The Acton-Boxborough United Way is a local non-profit working to improve lives in our two towns by mobilizing the caring power of community.

We provide funding via grants for essential services to help our children, teens, seniors, disabled, and families. We allocate funds to agencies and organizations providing these services . . . after a careful and deliberate grant process.

We understand our community. The ABUW has conducted a Community Needs Assessment in order to provide insight into the most pressing human service needs in our community, including those that are "under the radar" and may not be the most widely recognized.

We support strong partnerships between human service agencies, volunteers, local business, and government. Programs we organize that help us fulfill this role include our Community Forums and the annual Day of Caring.

We also foster the development of future philanthropists. The ABUW Youth in Philanthropy program provides students with experience in assessing community needs, fundraising, proposal reviews, grant making decisions, and more.

We provide information and initiate services for residents in need. To help residents find local aid, we maintain a local Human Service Directory and are proud to support Mass 2-1-1.
